Double-delight

Hailey wrote another poem.  If you know Hailey, you are already laughing your head off in anticipation.  If you don't know Hailey, you should know that she is very romantic and day-dreamy, and thrills in the beauties of nature.  I find her vocabulary surprising for a 2nd grader.  I think it's actually a pretty good poem.  It's very "Hailey" :).  We have some rose bushes in the back yard; one of the species is called "Double-delight" and is lucky enough to be the subject of this lovely poem:

My Double-delight
Oh, it sways so gracefully in the wind
and it seems to sing such song,
and it's petals are slightly, delicately rimmed,
and seems to smile all day long.

How its beauty, oh, how it's grace;
it has such pink-touched petals.
Oh, it has such a lively face,
it's little buds are like tiny tea pot kettles.

I feel so peaceful when I look
at the rose that takes away fright.
I feel as if I were down by the brook,
how I love my Double-delight!

Hailey is a hoot and a half and I am so grateful to have been able to get to know her this year!!!! I love listening to her telling Jolynn all the stories of her day and how much she learns. She is for sure a crazy girl, but I adore her!!! Thanks for sharing her with me this year!!!!
